LL's Pick of the Week- Milbrandt Vineyards 2011 Traditions Cabernet Sauvignon

Although a young wine, we find Milbrandt Vineyards 2011 Traditions Cabernet Sauvignon to be absolutely delicious and ready to drink now. We discovered it by happenstance just browsing the aisles in search of a high quality, value priced Cab. The staff at Wine World tagged it as a 90+ point wine bargain buy at $13.99. So we took a chance and snagged a bottle for a weekend getaway.

Given that we went out of town without access to a wine fridge, we let the bottle chill on our room's outdoor patio in pleasant low 60's weather for about 2 hours. We then enjoyed it in our stemless cab glasses that we brought along for the ride (not trusting the potential inferior quality of hotel provided glasses, wine snobs that we have become). The wine was so tasty we killed the bottle before dinner. I suppose you could say we had a grape appetizer.

My palate found the wine to be full of juicy blueberry & cherry and well balanced. Milbrandt's description is as follows: "Our Cabernet Sauvignon is dark, velvety and complex with layered flavors of black cherry, blackberry, cassis, mocha, and a hint of dried savory herbs.  A perfect example of why Cabernet is "King" in Washington"

But instead of listening to what we think, pick yourself up a bottle and see what deliciousness you taste!
